SS John Cantius
& Nicholas

Christ Is Risen, He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia

The proclamation of Easter stands in sharp contrast to death of the President pf Poland along with other national leaders as they were flying out to commemorate those of their countrymen who were murdered by the communists during the second world war.  Our Scottish parishioners pass on their condolences to our Polish parishioners.  Our joint mass for Mercy Sunday was followed by a vigil of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament leading up to mass in Polish at 5.30.  Our prayers go out to the people of Poland, for political and national stability.

Funeral Mass.  Sadly on Friday we have the funeral of Joe Roach one of our oldest and most faithful parishioners.  Joe’s body will be received into Church on Thursday evening at 4.30pm and his funeral will take place at 9.30mass.  May he rest in peace and rise with Christ to glory.

Wedding Flowers.  Some of our couples preparing for marriage have asked for a contact for flowers for their wedding.  The person responsible for church flowers is Katrina Boyle.  Her mobile number is 07867534490.  Katrina will advise on flowers.  Katrina also arranges flowers for weddings and would be happy to talk to you about this.  For further information on weddings see Sacramental Preparation.

The Canon Hoban Hall.  Our parish hall has its own licence to sell alcohol through our St Nicholas Social Club.  The main hall can accommodate about 120 people and the smaller hall around 40 people.  Kitchen facilities are also available as is an ‘in house’ catering service.  Anyone wanting to book the hall for a family celebration or charity event should contact Brian MacRae on 01506 854702 or Joe Reddington on 01506 433266

I am on a weeks holiday from the 12th until the 19th – in part a pilgrimage to celebrate the 350th anniversary of St Vincent de Paul.  Anyone needing a priest should contact Fr Marcin on 01506 852040.
